Disney+ Hotstar SDE II Job Description and Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance and optimize the current Hotstar pipeline video/image encoding software. Boost productivity, improve dependability, and guarantee scalability for growing content volumes
- Use AI/ML methods to create automated quality check systems that are targeted at source content and output streams.
- Work together with product teams to carry out new media feature technical implementation, making sure that it conforms to the platform architecture as a whole.
- Assist in keeping up quality control systems. Assist in resolving problems and make recommendations for enhancing current procedures
- Mentor junior engineers in best practices and work well with cross-functional teams to ensure project delivery success.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in object-oriented programming and C++ or Java
- Strong knowledge of audio and video processing and compression, including Dolby Atmos, HE-AAC, AAC, and AV1 audio codecs, and video codec standards including H.264/AVC, HEVC, and AV1.
- Knowledge of cloud computing and large-scale distributed systems
- Experience with machine learning as it relates to video processing; – Experience with open-source multimedia projects (such as ffmpeg, x264, avisynth, and webm)familiarity with encryption and media packaging standards like HLS and DASH
- Knowledge of CDN delivery mechanisms and architectures
