Barclays Database Developer Job Description and Requirements :
Key Responsibilities :
- Offer ODS team members leadership and technical direction.
- Cooperate with other CTO teams to accomplish organizational goals.
- Creating new data linkages and table structures to incorporate additional data sources
- Making sure all data warehouse tasks function as planned and debugging as needed Keeping documentation up to date with strategic requirements
- Encourage the warehousing capabilities’ development and release cycles.
- Address warehouse-related issues within the predetermined SLA
- Participation in the technical design and planning of the transfer of the current Dataware house to the new ODS data platform
- Peer evaluations of the code written by other BI Developers.
- Use SSIS Complex Transformations and Error Handling to create new ETL packages.
- Writing Python scripts to schedule jobs and import data; o Making SQL Agent jobs and debugging them.
- Use SSRS to create new reports.
- Optimize performance and improve the current setting
Required Qualifications:
- Microsoft SQL Server Database capabilities at a minimum;
- Advanced Transact-SQL knowledge, including triggers and functions;
- Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS, SSRS)
- Tools for visualization Tableau
- The capacity to comprehend the business environment and convert technical solutions into business requirements.
- ETL design and development, data and warehouse modeling
- Practical Python development
- Proficiency in the following areas:
- PostgresSQL SQL Performance Tuning
- Domain expertise in finance and banking
- Oracle / p-SQL experience
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
